Away Dog/House Sitting

I'm have been dog/house sitting since this past Thursday at a house with no internet!!..AH!>...I get to check my emails at work but don't have time to check blogs or even write a new blog.

So this morning I don't have to go to work till 12 as I watched my bosses son all weekend, so I'm getting days off and going in late today. I'm at my mom's house using her internet and getting caught up.

I will be at this house till next Saturday watching their dog/horse (yes I said horse). They have a Great Dane named 'Slate'. He's taller than me when he stands on his hinds legs. And while he's on all fours he's as high as my belly button or even a little bit higher. When he sits down he makes a big lud, or when we scratched his collar he shakes the floor. This dog is huge!....Its interesting though as I'm used to my little Bailey who is like the size of this dogs head.

So I'll be away till next Saturday. I promise I'll blog on Saturday when I get home and even post some pics of this huge dog.As well I got two new things from IKEA for my room, so I'll post new pics of my room which is almost finished (YAH)..So bye for now hope everyone has a great week.

Weekend of Painting

Finally after much frusteration with the drywallers not showing up and taking forever to finish I get to paint!

My weekend of painting went like this:

Friday night: mudded the tac and BB gun holes on the walls from its former room owner of my lil brother. Then sanded and re-mudded the holes again. (The drywallers only had to do the new walls not the old walls).

Saturday: Woke up at 9am (thanks Cory for the text (my bf)), went to Home Depot and got the paint (1 can of deep beige, 1 can of red red wine, 1 can of primer for the red), got a bunch of brushes. Then came home, Cory arrived and then we went to town to get coffee. Came back to my place and ate breakfast then around 10:30/11am we started priming the room. We finished priming around 12:30/1pm. Cory then had to leave for work, and I continued painting. I put 1 coat of the beige, 1 coat of the red, and cutout the area to do the ceiling. My mom and dad also helped me do the 1st coat of beige. Also while painting, my dad installed my closet door and rods. I worked on my room till around 6pm then went to my bro's hockey game.

(This pic is looking from my door into the room. You can see part of the ceiling is complete, the one window on the right hand side is complete, and the beige wall is complete. )

Sunday: Went to Cory's in the morning, then came home around 2:30pm as he had to work again. I put 1 more coat of red on the one wall, 1 coat on the ceiling, touched up last nights walls, did 1 1/2 of the windows trim, then tried do the corners. I hate corners! I have finally found an easier way though after getting the beige paint all over the red wall in the corners..AHH..So I'm going to have to tape all the corners in order to get everything straight.

Oh yah I got paint on the floor too tonight. I was working on painting the ceiling and I had a tray of the red paint sitting on the dresser. Well I went to go move my foot and the tray flipped over, hit the sheet that was covering the bed and landed on the floor also hitting the cd player and lamp stand that was on the floor. I tried cleaning it up as much as possible, but we are going to be putting new carpet down anyways. I'll just have a stain on my carpet for a bit in which I can cover up with an area rug. I worked on my room till around 7:30pm tonight then decided it was time was a break and I ate dinner. After dinner I put the electic covers on and made my bed (with my new sheets and pillows).

(Here is the picture of the paint on the ground after my attempt to try and clean it)

So to say the least, it was a weekend of painting and left I have: 1 coat of red paint, the corners and the window trim, and the door for the closet.

Thanks Cory, Mom, and Dad for helping me!!!!

Adventurous Bailey

So I lied about blogging sooner, but I do have some good reasons. It all starts off when my baby (Bailey) got sick, My mom and I also had a Pampered Chef party on Monday, and I have not been in my own room so my life/clothes is disorganized. We are finally finishing the rooms in the basement and hey while were at it lets switch rooms too. So my sis moved out as she is in college, my bro is moving up to her room, and I'm moving over a room to one that is bigger than my current room. However since everything is being drywalled and all dusty I have been living on the couch. They drywallers are finally done as of late Monday night, and my mom has been busy cleaning downstairs. So tomorrow morning I'm priming my room (whatever parts the drywallers didn't do), then have to get some paint colour and then paint. I can't wait, my room will be finished and decorated hopefully soon.

So back to Bailey getting sick/being adventurous...

I went to my bfs (boyfriends) house last Tuesday and my mom which we call Nana puppysat for me while I was gone. On my way up to bfs place my mom calls and Bailey was having trouble going to the bathroom. So I asked if she wanted me to come home, she said its fine right know unless he continues being constipated and then I will have to take into the emerg vet. About 15 minutes later my mom calls me back and says that she got is out and everything is good, but I owe her big time...lol....I'm kinda glad she got to deal with it..THANKS MOM. I enjoyed my night, and even let the little pooch sleep in my bed, which I never let him as I'm afraid he will go to the bathroom on my nice suede comfortor in which can only be dry cleaned.

The next day I'm at work when I get a call from my mom..Bailey had just fallen into the pool and he is shaking. She has to go back into work in an hour and I'll have to come and get him. So I ask my boss if its okay to bring Bailey into the office. She says no problem, he could be our mascot. By the time I get home my mom has already left and Bailey is just laying down on a cushion on the floor. Mom kept him warm and kept wrapping him up in warm just out of the dryer blankets, so I grabbed a bunch of blankets some food, some toys, and Baileys carrier bag (yes its a bag) and brought him back to the office. He slept on and off all afternoon on my lap while I did some work on the computer. He wasn't allowed to be left alone or go to sleep for a while. Towards the end of the night he was better and again I let him sleep in my bed. I felt so bad for the little puppy.

As well Bailey has finally completed his Puppy Socialization/Training classes. Although he really didn't socialize with the other puppies. I think he's more of a cat lover than a dog lover as you can see from the picture below. This is Bailey & Beans. Beans is my sisters cat. They are always playing together, and its even entertaining. They crawl into the dogs crate together and fall asleep, they play, and they cuddle on the couch.

Well I'm off...Have a good weekend everyone!

Happy Birthday Aunt Pauline!

Today is my Aunt's Birthday!

(This pic is from the left, Ally (Aunties Daughter), Uncle M (Aunties Husband), and Auntie)

Since I was young I have always thought of her as my second mom. She was there for me when I was younger for when my parents went away, I would get to go to Aunt Paulines (and play with her daughter Ally).

While away at college I was able to go over to her house (and visit Ally), but also be able to sit down and chat with her about my day. It made it easier to live away from home knowing that my second mom was only a 15 minute drive away.

We have gone on a few road trips, to Montreal, down to visit Ally a few times, and each time we always have fun. Especially our trip to Montreal!...Wow, I'll never forget that trip...so much fun in a 6+ hr car ride with 4 girls in my little sunfire (my mom, aunt pauline, ally and I).

So HAPPY BIRTHDAY AUNT PAULINE!!!

Hope your day is filled with love and joy and you get to spend it with people you love!...oh wait..you are...you are at my house ....lol....

LOVE YA LOTS!!!

The Birthday Weekend

Its been a while since my birthday weekend, however as promised here are some pictures...
We started out by leaving at 7am on Saturday morning, I packed my stuff in my car, picked up MelS, then picked up Louisianna, then headed to Tim Hortons.

On our way (it was a 3.5 hr drive to where the hotel was) we stopped at Wal-mart to grab the last minute things we needed for a girls weekend, ie; shaving cream, face masks, umbrellas as it was raining, flip flops for the pool area, and some other necessary to us items.

We arrived at the hotel at 11am and were able to check into our room right away. So we unloaded the car after having to get a dolly (the cart you pile everything onto), as we were only staying for one night but we were 3 girls and had a lot of stuff.

Here is a picture of Louisianna and MelS with all our stuff. We couldn't pile it any higher without it all falling over, as there were speed bumps in the parking lot.

We got into our room, and unloaded and got situated. We then went to the waterpark, I don't have any pictures, but it was a fun place. Its an indoor waterpark and it has 4 water tubing slides, 2 water body slides, 2 water carpet slides, 1 adult hot tub, 1 large wavepool, a resturant, and a kids area. It was tons of fun. We each went down the tubing slides, then just MelS and I went down the carpet and body slides. We got major weggies from the body slides, but it was fun.

After getting back from the waterpark we got dressed and ready to go Wine Tasting. We were in Niagara Falls, and they have amazing wineries. We went to i think 7 different places, some which included the popular Peller Estates, and Jackson-Triggs. We tried going to the places that you can't buy their wine in stores. I ended up getting two bottles for my parents and one bottle of 1999 late harvet wine. I decided that I was going to save it till next year on my 21st Birthday and open it then. This is the Peller Estates Winery from the back going towards the front. Its gorgeous inside and outside. The Champange was free there, the ice wine and everything else you had to pay for. Some places you got 2-3 compliementary wines, some you had to pay like $2 or $3 .

After returning from the tours, we were tired. We felt old and we all fell asleep while watching tv. We ended up waking up at 7pm and it was very hard to get out of bed. We eventually did and went to the Rainforest Cafe for dinner, then headed back to the hotel, and hung out. Later on in the evening we went out dancing at a local night club, it was fun, however it was almost halloween and some of the girls, wait a lot of the girls weren't dressed too nicely. We also saw some girl try and hit a cop and then had to jump her to the ground. Its amazing what happens when you go to a cities night club.

We got back to your hotel late and went right to bed. After we got up just in time to pack up and check-out. We were still able to use the waterpark till 3pm that day so after loading up the car we headed there for our last wave pool and hot tub swim. We were too tired to go and walk up all the stairs to the tubing slides. We even had the time turnback one hour that days also, so we gained an extra hour but were still tired.

After we headed downtown and checked out some different places including the Hershey's Store. yummy...we got fudge....and it was soo good. We then walked back up to my car, and drove down to the falls.

After the falls we headed towards Toronto as were were meeting Louisianna bf and MelS friend at Wonderland for Fear Fest. We were driving when MelS friend called to see where we were and stuff. We thought it was 3:30 but really it was only 2:30...I forgot to turn back my car clock..lol..so we decided to go to a local large mall and go shopping.

We went shopping, got food, then made bears at the Build A Bear Workshop. Louisianna made one for her bf, and MelS and I made one for our future children. We said they are our bears for know but we will give them to our children (don't worry it won't be for a few years).

After shopping and Fear Fest we headed home at 1am!!!...I went straight to bed once I got home after the 2 hrs drive. Thankfully Louisianna drove 1/2 way home while I slept, or else we probably would have had to stop for me to take a nap. Thanks for driving!!!

The next morning I started my new job in which I love!!! I have been there 1 week now and so much in my life has changed (another post). I promise I will blog soon again, as there is so much to tell.
