It's A Boy!

This is my new baby puppy!!.....So remember when I said that I wanted the puppy from my dogs wifes litter?...Well it ended up that my dad wouldn't allow another dog at this house, so then we sold it to another family. That family ended up not taking him in the end. So my mom surprised me and gave him to me as an early bday present today (my bday is the end of Oct). I came home after cleaning at my moms friend house for the day was taking off my shoes and putting down my purse in the front hall. Then I go up the stairs to the living room, and my mom is sitting on the couch with this little puppy. I was like 'what is that?', she was like 'your early bday present'!!!! I was like WHAT!!!! I picked him up and he gave me kisses. He loves to give kisses and sleep in my lap with his little head in the corner of my arm.

This is me and Bailey (thats what I'm calling him for now) just moments after I got him.

This is Ty, Me, and Bailey.

Don't they look alike? Bailey is a little darker than Ty. Ty is jealous and wants to be picked up and sit on our laps. I have been good though with fitting them both on my lap. Beans (the kitten), doesn't really care for the puppy much. He'll come and sniff but thats about it. Know the males dominate the girls in the house when including pets. 4 girls (all human), 6 boys (2 human, 2 dog, 1 cat, 1 bird).

Well I'm off to make my puppys crate a nice little spot in my room. I'll let you know how the training is going. So far no accidents and he has gone twice outside. :)

NYC Trip

I'm back from my trip to the states, it went a little something like this...
Monday (Sept 11) morning I woke up very early like 7am, showered, packed up and my mom and I left my house to pick up my aunt about 2 hours away from here, then to Niagara Falls, then to the border, then to Pennsylvania to stay at my cousin Ally's new apartment with her and her hubby, a total trip of 10 hrs including stop times for lunch and stretches.
Tuesday (Sept 12) morning Ally, aunt Shasher, JZ (Shashers son), my mom, and I, drove to NYC and stayed there all day. We saw many different attractions in NYC, the city wasn't as busy as I thought it was as it was around 1:30pm when we got there, but by the time work was out, boy was it ever busy! We ended up taking a bus tour in which we could hop on hop off in order to stop and look around different places. It was the best idea, and if you ever go to see NYC and want to see a lot of it take a bus that way you don't have to walk and you can cover more with the bus. What I never realized was how big this city is. There is so much to see, and so much to do. Definately another trip is in sight.

Wednesday (Sept 13) we slept till we could, got ready and shopped at the mall right across the street from Ally's apartment. We were there till around 2pm, then packed up and headed to West Virginia to visit my aunt G and her family. That was another 5 hr drive.
Thursday we shopped again with Aunt G, went back to her house, had dinner, chatted then went to sleep.
Friday (Sept 14) morning we woke up at our leisure and then headed back to Canada, which was another 8 hour drive to drop Aunt Shasher, and JZ off. Then my mom and I drove home which was 2.5 hours. I was glad to be out of a car by the time I went to sleep on Friday night and I'm sure that JZ was too. He was a good baby for the amount of driving we did. Below are some pictures of our trip.

Our first stop was The Statue of Liberty. This is me on the left (not a good pic of me, the sun was in our eyes) and Ally on the right standing from the walkway in Liberty State Park, New Jersey.

Next was Ground Zero, after I had politely asked a nearby cop where the shopping and ground zero stops were. I was amazed by the big hole in the ground. I didn't know this at the time, but you can actually go underneath and see the whole area with no gate in the way. My younger sister Mel was in NYC from Friday to Sunday, just a few days after we were, and she told me that.

This is in the middle of Central Park. To the left is, Aunt Shasher, JZ in the stroller sleeping, Me, and Ally. My mom is taking the picture. What a lovely park. It's just like the pictures and scences from the movies. There are people laying down on the grass, couples and singles, reading books under trees, or just taking a little nap. Its such a peaceful park, and would be a nice walk during the day. While waiting on a bench, Ally and I were watching the people, and what we noticed were a lot of nannies either pushing strollers or holding the hands of these children. It made me want to come live and NYC and be a nanny so that I could walk through the park everyday. We were near the zoo where they did Madagascar. We didn't go in as it was an extra fee, and we still had many places to go.

The Trump Tower sign in the first picture and the second is the building as we were driving by on the double decker bus. I heard that the foyer is in gold, so I wanted to go to the bathroom in the building and see if it was actually true. I wasn't about to jump off the bus so I bypassed that idea of peeing on the gold toilet seat. I was a watcher of the Apprentice. And for those of you who watch the show, Carolyn is no longer with the Apprentice. Trump said that she was more interested in making her own brand than promoting and selling for Trump.

This is Times Square from standing on the street. It was one of the places we walked to after visiting the world famous shopping centre of 'Macy's'.

This is a neat building. Its a triangle when looking at it from the front. It would have been neat to see the inside of the building to see how the rooms at the front where it is very narrow look, and how big they are.

Here is the Empire State Building near Sunset. It was on our last bus hop on going through little italy that we took this picture.

As well we saw: the broadway and threatre area, Greenwich Village, Soho, Chinatown and Little Italy, City Hall, Brooklyn Bridge, Battery Park, Waldork Astoria Hotel, Trump Palace, Rockefeller Center, and Park Central Hotel.

It was a day full of adventure and fun. Thanks for the great trip you girls (and JZ)!!

My First Home-made Meal

I've never been into cooking as a hobby, or have never had to cook in order to live (I've never lived by myself, plus I don't think I can cook very good). But the new Kraft 'What's Cooking' Magazine came in the mail and since I'm on holidays I decided I would cook a meal for my family as in the magazine the picture looked really good. So Thursday night (I know it was a few days ago, but I was away all weekend) I cooked a dish for them.

This is my dinner!...I made it in our pampered chef stone dish (I love pampered chef stone ware). Its got cut up chicken on the bottom, then vegetables mixed in with sour cream, and cream of chicken soup, then 2 cups of mozerella cheese, then stove top stuffing mix, then I added some additional cheese once the dish was done. The dish turned out good, everyone in the family ate some. It was a little bit runny, so next time I'll not but so much soup in.

I haven't cooked since Thursday (as we were in Sherkston Shores) but I will be cooking again. I want to start learning how to cook, but with my old job I didn't get home till 8:45pm, and my mom had already made dinner.

I wont be back here till Thursday evening as tomorrow morning I'm on my way with my mom and aunt to head down and see my cousin down in the states. Then on Tuesday we are all heading to NYC!! Hope you all have a great week. I'll post my trip pictures when I get back.

First Day of Holidays

It's my first day of holidays (thats what im calling these days off). My last day at my summer job was yesterday, so today I slept till I could (only 8am), and helped clean the kitchen, organized my closet, and made my bed. Soon after Regis & Kelly, my mom and I are going to Curves (which we haven't been to for a while).

I'm excited about my time off. I was talking to some friends saying that I'm never going to be able to take time off and relax, as I'll have payments on a house, or all that other fun stuff of growing up. Right now I only have Visa payments from my shopping trips while in college, car insurance that I pay my parents for, gas for my lil Ella-Louise (my car), and anything for entertainment for myself.

I've applied to 5 different places so far, so I'm just waiting to see what will happen. But my plans for the next few weeks are some of my fav things I enjoy:

Friday & Saturday: Going away with my family (only mom, dad and J) and Louisianna to Niagara-on-the-Lake, to a camping resort. My dad has another race this weekend, so mom and dad are staying till Sunday, but J has hockey tryoff on Sat evening, so Louisianna and I are taking him back on Sat afternoon.

Then Sunday we do laundry and pack, then Monday morning my mom and I are leaving to pick up my aunt 3 hrs from here, and heading down to visit my cousin (Mrs. Winckler) in Pennsylvania. We are visiting with her and her hubby for the day, then Tuesdays morning all four of us are heading to Manhatten!!!!! I can't wait. Going to see Liberty, and shopping all day. My dream! Then on our way back home we are stopping at my other aunts place in West Virginia to visit her for a day. Then heading back home. Good thing the Desperate Housewives season 2 is on DVD , as this is going to be a lot of driving. Then Thursday evening is when my mom and I will get back home.

Then Saturday I'm babysitting for my mom's friend, 4 kids ranging from ages 5 months to 9 years old. They are good kids, so it should be fun.

Well I'm off to the gym, then walmart. Maybe during my time off I should learn to cook..LOL..I'll let you know how that goes (I don't know how very well at the moment).

Its been a long time....

Yes, yes I know...Its been a long time since I have blogged. I've also been busy, with work (stupid work, sorry I'm having a bad day today), friends, and life in general. I haven't really had any big events happening over the past little while. I've been working 11:30-8 shifts 5 days a week for the past little while. So I get up in the morning, eat breakfast check emails then have to get ready and leave for work, then I come home and eat dinner, watch a little bit of tv and go to sleep. That has been my schedule the past while. Then on my two days off last week I went to my sisters horse show.

This post really isn't on any topic, I just needed to get out my anger right now with work. Its pretty dead here since its the long weekend and everyone has already pre-booked all their activities for the next few days. I book golf, spa (stupid spa, can you tell the part of my job I hate), hummer tours, dinner reservations, show tickets, babysitting requests, special delivery requests, and all sorts of other activities. I'm mainly mad at the spa right now. The spa has no communication with my department which is where the majority of spa bookings are made. Plus the spa has a new Spa Director I call her 'Miss High & Mighty'. Cuz thats what she thinks she is..LOL...So do some other people that I work with, so I know its just not me that has a disliking for her. So this morning its Sunday, its raining outside, and I'm really tired, but I managed to get myself to work on time this morning. I'm the only on in my department for today, and so I'm having a good day doing my normal morning duties, checking emails, updating counts on the web, checking for cancelled reservations that have activity bookings and such. Then all of the sudden boom, here comes 'Miss High & Mighty' (MHM), and when she comes its not good!, they hardly ever have anything nice to say to us. She comes and tells me that I didn't checkmark the staff requested part in a guests spa booking. Are you serious!!! Its like one the most important parts of the booking is to ask if they have a gender or staff requested. So I think back to a few days ago, as thats when the booking was made, and I don't even remember anyone ever requesting this staff member. So I don't know, did someone change my booking? Or is the spa trying to corner me out?? Anyways, so MHM says "I'm having a real problem with your department booking spa bookings, but we couldn't do it all without your department so we appreciate it, but I dunno, its just were having problems". So I'm like well I'm finished on Tuesday. And she was like well if you do come back as I don't know if you are (and this is where I rolled my eyes at her, like if I do come back it wont in association with you), then we'll be glad to have you back as I appreciate everything that you do...WHAT!!!...I've been working here longer than her!, she's only been here for like a month and a bit. How does she know how I've been doing. She really made a bad experience on this job for me. So then she leaves thanks goodness!!

I then talk to someone in another department (whos been here for a number of years) and she says that there has always been a problem with spa bookings and the spa. My department books tons of things and we never have this much trouble with the other departments that we book things for. So is it just the spa?!? Is it them that has the probelms and not my department like MHM says.

MHM isn't even my boss. So I'm going to talk to my boss when she gets back on Tuesday, as I didn't feel very comfortable when MHM was talking/yelling at me. Its my last day Tuesday! Can't wait! I have enjoyed this job alot and the people that I work with, however its the spas attitude towards my department that I'm not happy with. There have been other problems as well and they don't deal with them in a very polite and nice way. If we would all just communicate a little better I think things would run a lot smoother.

Hope everyone has a nice day!!
